Guangdong Launches China’s First Provincial Government AI Hub ‘Wanqing’, Integrating Tencent’s WorkBuddy as Core Office Agent
On June 16, Guangdong launched ‘Wanqing’, the first provincial-level government AI hub in China, for trial operation under the Guangdong Provincial Government Service and Data Management Bureau. Tencent’s AI office agent WorkBuddy will be integrated as a core component to provide document processing, policy research, material review, and automated cross-department workflows. The system uses sandbox isolation to ensure data stays within the domain and supports on-premise deployment with domestic chips. Pilot programs will begin in multiple Guangdong provincial departments and eventually open to all provincial civil servants.
